Cosmetic Dentistry Services

Whether you want a brighter smile or more uniform teeth, Fallston Dental Care can help. Our doctors offer two types of whitening as well as veneers to help you achieve your ideal appearance

Whitening

We offer passive tray whitening/bleaching in our office. This procedure involves taking impressions of the mouth and making custom fit, flexible, trays for your teeth. These trays are then loaded with a professional strength gel which surrounds the teeth and lightens them according to your schedule. This procedure works amazingly well in most cases, although patient compliance and the type of stain will affect results. Some stains, such as those caused by tetracycline, are better treated with other options, such as veneers.

Veneers

If you have tooth discoloration that requires more than whitening, chips and cracks, short or worn-down teeth, large fillings or gaps, veneers might be just what you need to transform your smile. Veneers are tooth-colored shells placed over the teeth. At Fallston Dental Care, we offer direct and indirect techniques for applying veneers.

The direct technique involves bonding a tooth-colored resin material to your teeth using adhesives and a high-intensity curing light.

The indirect technique takes two appointments because your veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At your first appointment, we’ll polish and/or shape your teeth, take impressions and apply a temporary covering, if necessary. In two to three weeks, when your custom veneers arrive from the laboratory, the temporary coverings will be removed and the new veneers will be bonded to your teeth. New techniques have now allowed us to either remove very little tooth structure, or in some cases, no reduction is necessary at all.

Laboratory-fabricated veneers made from porcelain or pressed ceramic are more durable and look more like natural teeth than resin veneers.
